Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?
Oh, absolutely, I’ve been to Ivory Coast.

Bet you didn’t see that coming, did you? It’s not something I casually drop in conversations, but yes,
I’ve been there. My grand-uncle lives in Ivory Coast, and back when I was younger, I had the chance to visit.
I remember bits and pieces of the trip, but one thing that’s crystal clear? The food.
Let me tell you, I fell head over heels for their local dish, Attieke.
It’s made from cassava, kind of like couscous, but with a tangy, flavorful twist.
Paired with grilled fish and a spicy tomato sauce it was love at first bite. I probably annoyed everyone with how much I kept asking for seconds.
And the places I visited? Gorgeous.
Though I’ll admit, being younger, I probably didn’t appreciate the sights as much as I should have.
But looking back, the culture, the warmth of the people, and, of course, the food it all made an impression.
If I ever go back, I’d relive every moment and eat enough Attieke to last me a lifetime.
I think I ate my weight in it during that trip, and honestly, I have no regrets. It was like discovering a whole new world on a plate.
I also got to visit the beach, which was stunning. I can still remember the feel of the warm sand under my feet and the salty breeze in my hair.
At one point, I even thought, Wow, I could live here.
And the result of all this? I had so much fun I didn’t want to leave. Ivory Coast wasn’t just a destination it was an experience.
I wish I had throwback pictures to show you but unfortunately not…
