It was a Sunday morning, the kind where the sky teased rain but held back just enough to keep the streets dry.
I had a mountain of academic work to finish, but skipping church wasn’t an option for me.
Finding a good faith-based church was a struggle.
Balancing my faith and studies as an international student in the UK was never easy, but it was necessary.
After the service, as the final exhortation echoed in my mind, I felt a renewed sense of purpose.
I hurried back to my accommodation, made a strong hot cup of tea, and opened my laptop.
My assignment draft stared back at me half-finished, waiting for inspiration.
Church has always had a way of refocusing me.
It wasn’t just the words spoken but the silence after, the moments where I could gather myself, pray, and trust that I’d find my way through even the toughest tasks.
That day, I spent hours working, fueled by faith and a quiet determination to honor both my academic goals and my spiritual life.
By the evening, the rain finally came, but I had a little victory to celebrate a few more pages written, and peace in my heart.
