I lost my 59-day writing (blogging) streak on Jetpack today. Let me say it louder for the people in the back fifty-nine days. Gone. Just like that. I honestly feel horrible. I wish I could retrieve it though.
You know that sinking feeling when you accidentally delete something important? Yeah, it’s like that, but worse because it was my hard work.
For two months straight, I showed up no excuses, no procrastination, just consistency. And let me tell you, it wasn’t easy.
There were days when I wanted to throw my laptop out of the window and curl up with a tub of ice cream instead of writing.
But I didn’t. And do you know what? It paid off. The results were beautiful traffic was up, engagement soared, and I was genuinely proud of myself.
But now, here I am. Streakless. Feeling like I failed.
The dramatic side of me wanted to shut the whole thing down for a minute. “What’s the point?” I thought.
I mean, failure hurts so bad.
But then, the rational side chimed in (annoyingly calm as always ):
It’s not about the streak, it’s about the habit.
You’ve built something bigger than just numbers.
And they’re right. I may have lost the streak, but I didn’t lose the progress. Consistency doesn’t disappear because of one missed day.
The work I’ve put in, the growth I’ve achieved that’s still there.
So now I’m asking myself (and you): when you stumble, how do you keep going?
Will you let one bad moment define your journey, or will you use it as fuel to push forward?
Here’s my advice to both of us, dust yourself off, take a deep breath, and start again.
Progress is progress, streak or no streak. We’ve got this.😂 Just me keeping that positive energy as always, until next time my lovelies…Cheers.
