There was a time when I thought trust had to be earned the hard way slowly, cautiously, after proving yourself over and over.
But then I worked with a leader who flipped that idea upside down.
From day one, she trusted me. Not because I had done anything special, but because that’s just how she led.
She believed in people before they even had a chance to prove themselves. And because of that?
I wanted to prove her right. I worked harder, took more ownership, and pushed myself to live up to her trust.
John Maxwell says, “Trust is given before it’s earned.”
At first, that sounds risky right… But here’s the drill:
When you extend trust first, people rise to the occasion. They feel valued, capable, and empowered.
Of course, trust can be broken but more often than not, it strengthens relationships, builds teams, and creates an environment where people thrive.
So here’s my challenge to you: Try trusting first. Trust yourself. Trust your friends. Trust team. See what happens.
And like I said earlier trust me on this…I know it’s hard but surely it’ll change everything for the best.
Until next time friend…toodles🤭
