Give People Energy

Have you ever walked away from a conversation feeling completely drained? Or, on the flip side, have you ever spoken to someone who made you feel alive motivated, excited, and ready to take on the world?

That’s the difference between energy-takers and energy-givers.

And here’s the truth: Great leaders give people energy.

I used to think leadership was about having all the right answers. But then I realized something powerful people don’t just follow intelligence or skill.

They follow energy. The best leaders bring positivity, encouragement, and a contagious enthusiasm that makes others believe in themselves.

How to Be an Energy-Giver

1. Encourage More Than You Criticize: People need confidence, not constant correction.

2. Listen With Genuine Interest: There’s power in simply being present.

3. Celebrate Wins-Big or Small: Acknowledging effort boosts morale.

4. Lead With Passion: Passion is contagious. The more excited you are, the more others will be.

John Maxwell reminds us that people thrive in environments where they feel energized and empowered.

So, the question is when people interact with you, do they leave feeling drained or inspired?

If you want to make an impact, start by being the person who fills others up instead of wearing them down.

Here’s a tip from the book I’ve been reading and a continuation of the leadership series.
