Early in my journey, I had this belief that if I wanted something done right, I had to do it myself. Ever felt that way? I thought success was about my effort, my skills, my vision.
But then, someone told me something that changed my entire approach to leadership which was…
“The best leaders don’t fly alone. They take others with them.”
That’s when I realized I wasn’t supposed to do it all. I was supposed to bring others along.

Bringing Others Along
John Maxwell said that true leadership is about lifting others, not just elevating yourself. It’s about mentoring, encouraging, and giving people the space to grow and succeed alongside you.
I once had an opportunity to take on a big task. My first instinct was to handle everything myself. But instead, I invited others into the process. I empowered them, entrusted them, and gave them opportunities to lead. In the end we didn’t just succeed we thrived together.
Let Others Fly With You
Trust people with responsibility. Growth happens when people are given a chance.
Encourage their strengths. Everyone has unique gifts. Help them develop.
Lead with humility. It’s not about you it’s about the team.
Celebrate their success. A win for them is a win for everyone.
The best journeys aren’t the ones we take alone they’re the ones where we help others fly with us.

Leading alone is like flying a kite by yourself—it works, but it’s tiring. True leadership is when you let others hold the string too, guiding them to fly higher.
Many people believe doing everything alone keeps things perfect. But perfection without people is just a lonely trophy on a dusty shelf. A real leader doesn’t just climb the mountain—they bring others along, showing them the path.
Maybe leadership isn’t about being the fastest runner. It’s about making sure no one is left behind. Because a journey shared is not just lighter, but also richer, with stories, laughter, and lessons along the way.
