There was a time when I thought success was about trophies, titles, or public applause. And failure? That was falling short of those visible milestones.
But life had other lessons in store for me.
One day, after a project I had poured my heart into completely flopped, I felt crushed. But sitting in that moment, I realized I had grown more from that failure than from any of my wins.
In today’s reading as always, John Maxwell reminds us yet again that,
“Failure isn’t falling down. Failure is staying down.”
Success isn’t just about results. It’s about resilience. It’s about who you become through the process the grit you build, the lessons you learn, the courage you grow.
Here’s the truth:
You can “fail” and still move forward. You can “succeed” and still feel empty if you’re chasing the wrong things. Real success is becoming the person you were meant to be.
So, next time you fall, don’t ask, “Did I fail?” Ask, “What did I gain?”
Because real success and real failure are simply defined by what happens inside of us, and not just outside.
