Compliment People in Front of Others

There’s something powerful about private encouragement but there’s something delightful about public praise.

I’ll never forget the first time a leader publicly complimented my work in front of the entire team. It was just a few words, but it made me stand a little taller, smile a little wider, and work a whole lot harder than usual to be honest.

Though this blog post is coming in late, I couldn’t help but point out what John Maxwell said, which goes thus…

Public praise builds private loyalty.

When we lift people up in front of others, we do three beautiful things at once,

We honor their contribution.

We inspire the room.

We build loyalty, trust, and belief.

How to make it a habit:

Look for the small wins people might miss. Be specific in naming what you admire most. Let others hear the good you see, be honest about it.

Words are like free reigns, but the right words at the right time can be priceless.

Now, tell me who can you celebrate today in front of others?

I didn’t feel like writing today, but this short piece was worth putting down and sharing with you here. I hope it makes sense.
