Change Requires Additional Commitment

I used to get excited about change at least at the beginning. A new plan, a fresh start, a shift in direction it all felt inspiring… until it got hard.

Recently, I learned what John Maxwell meant when he said,

“Change is easy to propose, hard to implement, and most of all, painful to sustain.”

It’s not the starting that’s hard it’s the sticking with it. That’s where the real growth happens.

There was a season where I committed to a new routine to become more focused and intentional with my time.

At first, I was all in. But then, life got busy. Old habits whispered, “Just skip today.” I almost listened.

But then I reminded myself: Real change demands renewed commitment.

Here’s what helped me push through:

I reminded myself why I started.

Purpose fuels perseverance. I expected resistance.

Change isn’t smooth, it’s stretching. I made space for grace. Progress beats perfection.

Well, that’s to say that if you’re in the middle of change right now and it feels harder than expected you’re not failing. You’re growing. Stay committed to the course.

The shift you want to see is just beyond the discomfort.

Until next time. Happy Easter Holiday🫶🏾
