It’s a new day, a very beautiful one at that the sun is out, the birds are chirping like they just got saved, and it’s Easter morning… supposed to be the resurrection morning, right? So, I guess I’m supposed to wake up, put on a pastel dress, wave a palm leaf, and shout “He is risen!” like I wasn’t just crying over burnt toast five minutes ago.
But here I am hair tied up, heart open wide, and rejoicing not in perfection, but in life. In Christ’s life. That life that said, “I’ll die, go to hell, snatch the keys, and walk out like it’s nothing.” Now that’s gangster.
Anyway, here’s what I have for you today…
We celebrate life not just because we woke up breathing though trust me, I’m grateful for that too (especially on a Monday). We celebrate life because He lives. That’s not some Pinterest quote or a church girl aesthetic caption. It’s the core of everything. Look, if Christ didn’t rise, then hun, we’re all just playing dress up in our Sunday best for vibes.
But He did rise. And because of that, I have hope. I have peace. I have joy that doesn’t make sense. I have forgiveness for things I still beat myself up about. I have purpose even when I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing (which, let’s be honest, is most days).
John 11:25 says, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” And girl, if that doesn’t make you want to dance in your kitchen with a slice of leftover hot cross bun, I don’t know what will.
So why do we celebrate life?
Because life means something now. It means Christ. (Jesus said: I am the way, truth and life) It means grace. It means you don’t need to have it all figured out just faith in the One who already did. That’s why we rejoice in life, everyday and especially on Easter apparently. It’s not just about bunnies and boiled eggs (even though I won’t lie I do love me a chocolate egg or two).
It’s about resurrection power in everyday people like me and you.
So today, breathe. Laugh. Eat well. Forgive yourself. Forgive someone else. Call your mom. Watch the sunset. Celebrate life not just because of what happened thousands of years ago, but because He’s still doing it now in you, in me, in all of us crazy, messy, deeply loved humans.
Because if He rose… then so can we to his glory.
Question for you:
What does life mean to you today, knowing He lives?
Let’s talk in the comments and Happy Resurrection Morning, friend.

This affirms that life possesses inherent meaning. Were we to fully embrace the existential vision articulated by Jean-Paul Sartre life would be devoid of any predetermined meaning or hope. However, since I do not subscribe to this bleak outlook, I maintain that life is imbued with meaning and filled with hop
