Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?
Back when I was much younger, I was really no stranger to the stage. But struggles with stage fright were real for me growing up.
Every time I had to step onto that stage whether it was for a song, drama, or even sharing the Word I felt the familiar rush of nerves threatening to hold me back. But somehow, I pushed through each time.
Maybe it was the excitement of performing or the support of my peers, but with every performance, I learned to face the fear head-on.
Over time, those moments of bravery built a quiet confidence in me, teaching me resilience and helping me grow into someone who could stand tall and share boldly.
Whether it was at school, church, or during our church’s annual camp meeting, Gethsemane, I was always in the spotlight.
This conference, held every July in Cameroon, brought together churches from all over the nation for a time of learning, worship, and fellowship.
Both Adults, Children and young people like me were given the chance to perform songs, dramas, comedy skits, poetry, memory verses, and even dance.
I often took the lead in most performances whether as a solo singer, dancer, or key player in a drama. I didn’t just participate; I actively shared my creative ideas to make every performance stand out.
At the time, it felt like a competition to prove our church’s talent, but eventually, I realized it was so much more.
It was about learning, growing, and being inspired by the brilliance of others.
That perspective has shaped so much of my journey today.
One unforgettable moment was when I was just about six years old, standing before an audience of over 1,000 children at a children’s conference, sharing the Word of God.
Guess what…My interpreter? None other than my then-best friend.
It was nerve-wracking yet exhilarating, and that experience remains etched in my heart as one of the most beautiful memories.
Looking back, those moments taught me confidence, resilience, and the joy of sharing your gifts with others.
Remember, every step you take out of your comfort zone is a step towards growth. So embrace the stage whatever “stage” life puts you on.
Right now, I may not be on a physical stage, but I believe this platform is my very own stage, and I have seized every opportunity to embrace it and showcase what I’ve got to the world.
Your story could be the light someone needs always remember that.

I admire that. I have always been in the spotlight too but I had challenges with managing it. Right now, l am at university and be it in school or church, that same thing happens to me always
Well that makes the two of us🙂. I’m sure with time you’ll be able to manage that spotlight well enough
Yes very much.
You’re welcome
