Declutter Your Life: Because Who Needs Extra Baggage or Toxic Friends…

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

Oh, you see clutter is that uninvited guest that somehow sneaks into every corner of my life. and I’ll show you how shortly…

If I had to list my clutter hotspots, I’d probably need a notebook, and oh wait those are cluttered too.

Honestly, the thought of reducing clutter in my life used to feel like trying to empty an ocean with a teaspoon. Where do I even begin?

Let’s start with the obvious: my closet.

I’ll admit, I’ve hoarded outfits that I convinced myself “I’ll wear someday.”

Spoiler alert: Someday never came.

There’s that pair of jeans I swore I’d slim back into (delusional much🫠😮‍💨?) and the heels I wore once, almost broke an ankle, and yet still couldn’t part with.

So, I decided enough was enough.

I donated what I no longer used. The result? A closet that doesn’t scream chaos and, surprisingly, fewer “I have nothing to wear” moments.

It’s such a huge relief…😮‍💨😂🫠

Next up, my digital space.

If inbox clutter were an Olympic sport, I’d take gold. Hundreds of unread emails, apps I’ve opened twice, and old screenshots clogging my phone.

I mean, do I really need 12 pictures of the same cup of coffee? No. So, I set aside an hour (okay, two) to declutter my phone and laptop. Unsubscribing from useless newsletters felt like breaking free from chains.

But the hardest part?

Decluttering friendships

Oh yes, I went there. C’mon now, let’s be real though… you can agree with me that not everyone in your life is rooting for you.

For me, some friendships were draining me emotionally, making me question my worth, and quite frankly, adding zero value to my growth.

Cutting ties wasn’t and isn’t always easy I won’t lie, I’ve cried. A lot. But eventually, I realized that peace over drama is priceless.

Surrounding myself with people who uplift, inspire, and hold me accountable has been life-changing.

Through all this, I learned that clutter isn’t just physical, it’s emotional and mental too. And with that I started journaling more, meditating, and praying regularly letting go of the internal chaos that was holding me back. It hasn’t been easy, but every small step has brought me closer to a lighter, healthier and more peaceful life.

So, here’s my question for you: What’s one thing (or person) you can let go of today to make space for something better tomorrow? Remember, decluttering isn’t just about getting rid of things it’s about making room for what truly matters. And trust me, it’s worth it so I urge you to keep striving for your best self. Cheers.

  1. This here is a good read.

I think I’ll start with decluttering myself so I can declutter the things & people who need to be decluttered without feeling guilty.

See you in your next post.

  2. This is so true. I have been working on decluttering in that area and it is wise not only for the decluttering aspect but because some people have no right to spread possible negativity and toxicity to us.
