I used to believe that freedom meant doing whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. No rules. No limits. Just living life “free.” But somewhere along the way, I realized that chasing total freedom often left me feeling lost, not liberated.
In today’s reading, John Maxwell said,
“Freedom is not the absence of responsibility; it’s the embracing of it.”
Real freedom isn’t all about living without rules, it’s mostly living with the right disciplines. In essence, it’s about knowing where you’re going and choosing what matters most.
Here’s what real freedom looks like:
• Owning your choices.
• Staying committed to your priorities.
• Setting boundaries that protect your growth.
When I started setting goals, managing my time intentionally, and staying disciplined even when it wasn’t “fun” I didn’t feel trapped. I felt strong. I felt free.
Because true freedom isn’t about escaping responsibility. It’s about owning your life on purpose every step one day at a time.
If you’ve been chasing freedom but feeling stuck, maybe it’s time to redefine what freedom really means. Trust me, it’s a game-changer.
Anyway, that said I’m sure by now, if you’ve been following my updates, you’ll know that I’ve been thinking of starting a podcast🤔 to share my experiences of being an international student in the UK and some helpful tips and motivation.

You’re spot on with your freedom analysis. In an upcoming novel, I wrote the passage: Air and space: they can prove fickle entities. Not enough of each can kill you, and too much can kill you even faster.
