Prompts, Storytelling

Oh, Sweetie, Let Me Tell You About My Fave Camp…

Have you ever been camping?

Pfft. If you mean tents, bonfires, mosquitoes, and pretending to enjoy beans from a can…🫠😮‍💨

Yeah… no thanks.

I’ve technically never done that type of camping.

But have I been camping?

Absolutely.

Just not the “wildlife and wilderness” kind.

Mine involved wildfire prayers,

wilderness-breaking worship,

and more Holy Ghost movement than your Fitbit can track.😮‍💨😅😂

See, I’m a church girlie.

The kind that doesn’t flinch at 12-hour fasts,

who packs more anointing oil than sunscreen for a retreat.

Lol…just kidding…no I’m not.😮‍💨

And if you’re asking about camp?

Let me introduce you to our Annual Gethsemane Prayer Camp Meeting.

Yeah, that’s my kind of camping.

This isn’t your “two-day youth hangout with hotdogs and awkward games” kind of deal.

This year makes it 25 years of God showing off.

A divine tradition.

A vision birthed from Planters Mission International by my momma’s obedience,

nurtured with fasting, praying, and maybe a few shouting matches behind the scenes with the organizing committee (we’re human, okay?).

From using school halls in Saker Baptist College to Horizon Bilingual,

Mother Teresa College to our very own land—Prayer Palace in Dla, Cameroon.

God literally gave us a space to stretch, scream, weep, and worship.

People come from everywhere,

Yaoundé, Limbe, Buea, Kumba, Bafoussam, Kribi,

even from Nigeria, Gabon, the US.

Because when God calls, even geography bows.

As for me,

I’ve been there almost every year.

From making noise with the youth choir to helping out as part of the organizers

(while low-key trying to avoid being stuck with kitchen duty, let’s be honest),

Though, it’s my happy place.

And don’t get me started on Friday night — the Finale,

the all-night praise marathon that leaves you with blisters on your feet

and tears in your eyes, because Heaven always shows up.

This July—

We’re doing it again.

6th to 11th, baby.

And it’s the silver jubilee.

25 years of experiencing God’s faithfulness.

Hopefully, I will fly back home just to soak in this glory—

okay and maybe enjoy my mom’s special stew,😅

but mostly the glory.

So yeah… camping? Oh yes I’ve been.

And if you’ve never experienced the sound of over 300 voices praying in tongues under the open sky at midnight—

darling, you haven’t lived.

I am not ashamed of my Jesus.

I am not ashamed of my roots.

And if you ever wanna feel what it’s like to be wrapped in divine love for a week straight,

Join me…

This isn’t just camping.

This is calling.

This is purpose.

This is revival in motion.

See you at Gethsemane Prayer Camp Meeting 2025.

And if you’re bringing snacks, make it chin-chin, not canned beans. Thanks.

  1. Okay, this might be the most powerful version of camping I’ve ever read — and I’m so here for it.

Forget tents and trail mix — your kind of camp is where souls get stretched and heaven meets earth. I was cracking up at “more Holy Ghost movement than your Fitbit can track” 😂 and then immediately got chills reading about 300 voices praying in tongues under the open sky.

That is revival in motion. And honestly? A luxury experience of a completely different kind — sacred, deep, and unforgettable.

Wishing you the most beautiful 25th anniversary of Gethsemane Prayer Camp. May the stew be hot and the Spirit even hotter 🔥🙏
