Putting People in Their Strength Zones

I used to think the best way to grow was to focus on fixing weaknesses. But then I noticed that when people work in their strength zone, they don’t just perform better they light up.

I saw it firsthand with someone on my team. They were struggling in one role, constantly getting drained.

We switched things up, gave them something that matched their natural strengths and wow. They came alive. Productivity soared, and their confidence followed.

In today’s reading again, John Maxwell said,

You can’t do what you were made to do until you know what you’re made of.”

Helping people find their strength zone means:

1. Observing what energizes them. Pay attention to where they thrive.

2. Having honest conversations about gifting.

3. Giving people permission to pivot.

In summary, when we align people with what they’re naturally gifted at, we don’t just help them succeed we help them feel fulfilled. Because when people operate in their strength zone, they don’t just show up they shine.
